Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Hardware is difficult to manage because of proprietary vendor interfaces and diverse hardware components. The designers of Open Compute Servers solved this problem by completely stripping out the management system while maintaining all the most frequently used features.

This talk is about techniques for monitoring hardware at scale, how to work around the mayhem caused by proprietary vendor systems, and the operational error that ultimately caused the designers of Open Compute Servers to re-adopt traditional management systems.
